High Resolution (<1m) imagery is extremely useful for project-scale exploration. As an image base they are an excellent way to provide ground control for mapping and sampling, geologic interpretation and logistical planning.
However, care needs to be taken when acquiring these products such that they are accurate and useful.
The QuickBird and IKONOS satellites can currently provide the best value imagery available…
