Digital Elevation Models (DEM's) provide extremely useful information for mineral exploration and other purposes.

Global Ore Discovery can produce high-resolution (<1m) DEM's and line contours derived from ASTER, IKONOS, QuickBird and other satellite images. These DEM's are spatially accurate, orthorectified 3D representations and are often the only way to analyse the topography of remote areas.

Coarser DEM's can also be derived from geophysical surveys, the SRTM mission, government agencies and elsewhere.
