    Mineral Mapping

Global Ore Discovery routinely processes multi and hyperspectral imagery to identify target spectral signatures from surface materials. We have processed imagery to map hydrothermal alteration minerals associated with porphyry, epithermal (active and fossil), VHMS, orogenic gold, greenstone hosted and intrusive related systems in the premier mineral belts of the world.

Global Ores processing team utilizes propriety algorithms and processing techniques to highlight the most subtle alteration features. Prioritized alteration anomalies are interpreted by processors who regularly follow up the anomalies with ground spectral measurements, alteration mapping and geochemical samples (we are not just blackbox processors). Integration of the anomalies with other information allows for further prioritization of alteration based on geological factors.

This approach not only focuses exploration into the most prospective parts of known systems but also has been used to build portfolios of previously unrecognized systems for companies in heavily explored terrains.

Global Ore can acquire, task and process satellite or airborne imagery that is applicable to your goals and budget.

Multispectral satellite imagery for Alteration mineral mapping

ASTER – 120x150km scene 30m SWIR pixel resolution – 4-9 bands

Landsat TM – 170x183km scene 30m pixel resolution -7 bands

Hyperspectral satellite/airborne imagery for alteration mineral mapping

Hymap/AVIRIS Variable area (surveys to match your area of interest) – pixels 1-5m – 4 bands

Hyperion – 7.7x42(up to 185)km – 30m pixel resolution – 220 bands

A number of satellites have multi-spectral or hyper-spectral capabilities and can be used to identify individual mineral species of interest to mineral explorers. Examples include such minerals as pyrophyllite, silica, chlorite, kaolinite, epidote, muscovite, alunite, carbonate, fe-oxides and others.

This identification process is termed mineral mapping and Global Ore Discovery has extensive experience in undertaking these analyses. We are continually undertaking research to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our mineral mapping algorithms.

Furthermore, Global Ore can draw on our extensive geological and technical experience to provide a dependable interpretation of the results from mineral mapping analyses.

Our mineral mapping products are provided in common GIS formats, and we believe their quality is unsurpassed in the industry.
